49 Degrees North Ski Resort- 49 is what us chewelah folks like to call it for short. Our ski resort has a huge variety of runs and it will satisfy any level of skiing or snowboarding needs. Personally I like to ride on the back country because it's more peaceful. However, if hitting jumps is your forte there is a gnarly park towards the bottom of chair lifts one and two.
Check out their website for more info on tickets and other resort topic ski49n.com Quartzite Mountain- quartzite mountain has a beautiful view over the valley of chewelah. The road up to the base of the hike is bumpy so I recommend you bring a truck or some type of vehicle that will drive well on back roads. There are some steep points on the hike but overall it isn't too extreme. I love hiking close to sunset so it's cooler outside for one, but you also will be able to watch the sun disappear behind the skyline. If you are into that I highly recommend it. Fired Up Pizza- if you are a pizza fan Fired Up will be your best choice. They have a nice outside seating arrangement in the front of the shop, which is great when the sun is out shining its warmth on the little town of chewelah. Let's talk pizza though! They have a huge variety of specialty pizzas such as a margherita style, taco style, seafood styles and even veggie specifics. One great thing about this restaurant is they have gluten alternatives for the crusts. They also have in house brewing, so if you are a beer drinker you can't go wrong eating at Fired Up. Check out their website fireduppizzachewelah.com Lake Chelan is YOUR destination place for all things boating, wakeboarding, hiking, dining, and of course, wine tasting. Lake Chelan is the 11th American Viticultural Area in Washington state with over 30 wineries to choose from. Wine lovers make a quick jaunt over the hills to return for any season. |
